Meet Indianapolis’ Wedding of the Year: Adena + Nevin
The votes are in! Adena + Nevin are officially Wed Society Indianapolis’ 2026 Wedding of the Year! Their three-day Indian fusion wedding was one of nine weddings in this year’s Instagram Stories voting competition, and Indianapolis chose them as its favorite.
Friday’s colorful festivities and Saturday’s elegant, candlelit wedding couldn’t have looked more different. Add in three days of family traditions, and there’s a lot to revisit. Adena + Nevin will now represent Indianapolis as a nominee for Wed Society’s National Wedding of the Year.

A Three-Day Wedding
The festivities began Friday with the Madhuram Veppu, a sweetening ceremony where close family members fed Adena and Nevin sweets to initiate and bless the wedding ceremonies and the couple.
Saturday was their traditional South Indian Christian wedding. During the ceremony, Nevin placed the Thali, a small pendant woven with six threads from the traditional bridal sari, around Adena’s neck. The threads symbolize God, the bride, the groom, the bride’s family, the groom’s family, and their community of well-wishers.
Nevin then placed the Manthrakodi, a traditional bridal sari, over Adena’s head, symbolizing his commitment to care for her from that point forward.
On Sunday, the Kalyana Sadhya was a welcoming ceremony, symbolizing Nevin’s family welcoming Adena’s family into their home and as part of their family.
Two Very Different Looks
The design couldn’t have been more different from one event to the next. One look featured saturated pinks and oranges, oversized hanging florals, and bold draping. The other traded bright colors for soft blush and ivory, with delicate florals, layered white draping, and candlelight.
Blue Llama Events coordinated, and Adena credits planner Jean with understanding her vision, making sure the other vendors understood it, and stepping in when things became overwhelming. Her advice to other couples? Hire your wedding planner before you start planning.
Satin & Stems designed the floral elements across both looks, from colorful hanging installations to softer arrangements. Ace Party Rental provided draping, staging, lounge furniture, custom bars, and a dance floor. Antique Limousine of Indianapolis handled transportation, while Camden Claire Films captured the weekend on video.
Adena’s favorite memory was leaving the church with Nevin. They were officially married, everyone was excited, and they could look around and see all the people they loved in one place.
