Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Indiana, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

This month, we’re featuring Madalyn and Steven’s Timeless Estate Style Wedding with an Italian-Citrus Twist.

When Madalyn and Steven started planning their wedding, they had a pretty unique challenge: how do you honor a bride who’s a proud, lifelong Hoosier and a groom with deep Italian-American roots from Long Island? They found the perfect answer by leaning into a classic estate vibe. By the time the day arrived, they had transformed the grounds into a space that felt like a getaway to the European countryside, filled with soft French blues and bright pops of lemon yellow.

The Wedding Day

The weekend was really a love letter to where they both come from. Madalyn and Steven wanted their out-of-town guests to get a real taste of Indiana, so they kicked things off on Friday with pork tenderloin sliders and mini Hoosier cream pies. But the Italian influence was just as strong—Steve’s heritage took center stage at a beautiful rehearsal dinner, and by the time the wedding reception rolled around, everyone was snacking on hand-served cannolis that tasted like they came straight out of a New York bakery.

Watching the vision come together was a huge part of the joy. Black Swan Beauty kicked off the morning by giving Madalyn a look that was the perfect mix of classic and “whimsically elegant.”

The design of the day was handled by the team at Blue Llama Events, who made sure every detail—from the white parasols keeping guests cool in the sun during the outdoor ceremony to the gorgeous LGi Linens and table settings—felt intentional and effortless. Even the logistics were handled with style, as Antique Limousine of Indianapolis provided stunning transportation service, adding an extra layer of luxury and ease to the day’s transportation.

“Their wedding beautifully honored Italian heritage with a romantic garden sensibility woven throughout the day,” says Jean Rivers of Blue Llama Events.” While guests dined indoors, we thoughtfully recreated the feeling of an al fresco soirée—long candlelit tables, lush greenery, and layered textures that evoked the charm of an Italian countryside evening. What made it truly extraordinary was the way it gathered loved ones from all over the country to surround Mady and Steve with such unwavering love.”

The reception featured a custom monogram dance floor from Ace Party Rentals that anchored the room, but the real showstopper was the late-night treat. To close the celebration, a strolling cannoli station offered made-to-order sweets—a nostalgic, joy-filled nod to tradition and the perfect late-night indulgence.

Their Favorite Memory

As the night went on and the party moved under the tent, things got a little more personal. The band started playing “Fly Me to the Moon,” which the couple chose because it felt just like them—classic but a little bit playful. The best part? Two of their talented best friends actually stepped up to sing it live with the band. Madalyn said it was the first time all day they actually felt “alone together,” even with all their favorite people watching.

And because you can’t have a wedding at a beautiful estate without exploring a bit, they managed to steal away for a few “mischievous” minutes after dark. They headed out to the fountains just to have a quiet moment to themselves under the stars—the perfect, low-key end to a day that was all about celebrating where they’ve been and where they’re going.
