Some dresses deserve their own moment. Macy’s was one of them.
For her wedding to Tommy, she wore a sculptural gown from Marie Gabriel Couture Bridal, with a corseted bodice and layers of airy fabric that gave the dress plenty of movement. It photographed differently from every angle, from the sweeping bridal portraits to the less-serious moments later in the day.
The rest of the wedding followed the same point of view. Black and white anchored the design, with white florals, dark wood chairs and touches of green playing against the glass-and-steel architecture of the reception space. Even the tables leaned into the contrast, pairing black linens with white napkins and floral arrangements that felt loose rather than overly formal.
Macy and Tommy carried that energy themselves. His white jacket was an easy counterpart to her gown, but some of our favorite photos are the ones where neither of them seems particularly interested in posing: drinks in hand, showing off the newly signed marriage license, or catching each other in between everything else.
And then there was the second dress. Short, structured and made for the dance floor, it gave Macy another fashion moment without feeling like a dress change for the sake of one.
The gown may have been the starting point, but the day around it more than kept up.
