If you’ve ever tried catching up with another wedding vendor on a Saturday, you already know how it goes.
You spot each other across the room, wave, promise to talk later… and then one of you gets pulled away before it ever happens.
Connect is the opposite of that.
Nobody’s checking a timeline. Nobody’s running to set candles or fluff a dress. There’s finally time to finish the conversations that usually get cut short.
By the time everyone settled in at Mustard Seed Gardens, coffee from Bedrock Coffee Co. was already disappearing, small bites from A Cut Above Catering were filling plates, and it seemed like every few steps someone was stopping to say, “I’ve been meaning to meet you.”
That was before the panel even started.
Before Anyone Found Their Seat
If you arrived a little early, you probably didn’t stay early for long.
You’d stop to say hi to one person and suddenly realize you’d been standing in the same spot for fifteen minutes because someone else joined the conversation… and then someone else.
That’s kind of how the whole morning went.
There wasn’t much rushing from one thing to the next. People grabbed a bite when they got around to it, wandered through with coffee in hand, and found themselves in another conversation before they ever made it to a chair.
Elizabeth DiGusto of Satin & Stems Events brought the morning together through both the event design and planning, layering bright summer florals throughout the venue, while LGi Linens mixed color and texture across the tables. Violet Vintage Rentals created inviting places to sit and catch up, while the bars, draping, stage, chairs, and rentals from Wow Factors helped bring the space together. Guests were welcomed by custom signage from Sterler Productions, which carried the same playful feel throughout the morning.

The Panel Was Only Part of It
The panel gave everyone plenty to think about.
This year’s panel brought together Jean Rivers of Blue Llama Events, Vaso Mikic of LGi Linens, and Young Colling of Marie Gabriel Couture Bridal. Each offered a different perspective on the wedding industry, from design and planning to building a brand and creating memorable client experiences. Before long, phones came out to save ideas before they disappeared. Heads nodded. People laughed. A few comments sparked conversations that picked right back up once the microphones were turned off.
Honestly, that’s probably the best part of Connect. Little circles start forming around the room again. Someone asks a follow-up question. Someone else makes an introduction. Before you know it, another half hour has gone by.
As guests arrived, Felix and Fingers filled the room with live piano; the music from DG Visionaries kept the morning moving naturally from one conversation to the next without ever competing for attention.t
The Morning Flew By
You could spend the morning admiring the details.
But if you ask anyone who was there what they’ll remember, it’ll be finally meeting someone they’ve followed for years or catching up with someone they hadn’t seen since last wedding season.
Or leaving with a new idea they couldn’t wait to try.
Looking through Alison Mae Photography’s gallery afterward, it’s those moments that stand out the most. Camden Claire Films captured the conversations and little interactions that unfolded throughout the morning, while Get Social Booth gave guests one more reason to grab a few friends before heading out. The FACE FOUNDRIÉ also treated one lucky attendee to a giveaway, adding extra fun to the morning.
