Wed Society Indianapolis | Cares: A Morning at Random Acts of Flowers 🌼
For our first Wed Society Indianapolis | Cares event, we spent the morning at Random Acts of Flowers, turning donated flowers into cheerful arrangements for patients in local nursing homes and hospitals. It was simple, hands-on, and honestly really special.
What We Did
Our team and member community:
-
Sorted and prepped donated flowers and greenery
-
Created as many bright, happy arrangements as we could
-
Packed them up to be delivered to patients later that day
It felt a little like styling mini centerpieces—just without the seating chart stress. There was chatting across the tables, petals everywhere, and that quiet, good feeling of doing something that matters.
Why Random Acts of Flowers
Random Acts of Flowers gives flowers a second life and a second purpose. Instead of being thrown away, they’re turned into fresh arrangements that are delivered to people in healthcare facilities who might really need a lift.
Their impact is threefold:
-
Emotional support: a simple arrangement can ease loneliness and brighten a hard day
-
Less waste: flowers are reused instead of tossed
-
Community connection: volunteers come together to care for people they may never meet
Knowing our arrangements would end up in the hands of real people nearby made every vase feel a little more meaningful.
Members Who Showed Up With Big Hearts 💛
We were so grateful to have these Wed Society members join us and jump right in alongside our team: Camino & Company, Tinker House Events, Rejoice Photo Booth, InterContinental, Stacy Able Photography, Mon Amie Events, and Luva Events.
Be sure to check out their work and give them some love on their Wed Society member profiles.
More Than Just a Volunteer Day
Beyond the arrangements themselves, this morning gave us time to:
-
Connect outside of busy event days
-
Get to know our members
-
Serve the community we all work in and care about
We left with full hearts and a shared excitement for the next Wed Society Indianapolis | Cares event.
