During Madeleine and Jonathan’s ceremony at St. John, it started pouring at Laurel Hall.
Not sprinkling. Pouring.
The reception was outside. Tables had already been set, florals were in place, and the terrace was ready for guests.
Meanwhile, downtown, everything at the church remained perfectly dry.
Madeleine and Jon had no idea.
By the time they finished the ceremony, the team at Luva Events and the vendor team were already at work back at Laurel Hall.
Linens were dried by hand. Every plate, glass, and piece of flatware was wiped down individually. Florals and décor were protected and restored.
Some things could not be saved. Chair cushions and napkins were casualties of the afternoon storm, but everything else was brought back to life.
When guests arrived for the reception, most never realized anything had happened at all. Many did not hear the story until later that evening.
That felt fitting for the kind of day Madeleine and Jon wanted. Thoughtful planning allowed them to stay present with their family and friends while the team handled everything happening behind the scenes.
The reception design felt distinctly Madeleine.
Bright pinks mixed with softer blush tones and crisp white florals, creating a look that was colorful without feeling overwhelming. Fruit woven throughout the arrangements added warmth, texture, and personality to the tablescape.
As the evening went on, candlelight reflected across the glassware and linens, and it became hard to imagine the storm that had passed through only hours before.
Antique Limousine handled transportation throughout the day, keeping travel between St. John and Laurel Hall seamless for the couple and their guests.
What stood out most, though, was Madeleine and Jonathan themselves.
They knew what they wanted, trusted their team, and treated everyone around them with kindness.
By the end of the night, the storm had become just another part of the story.
