Vows That Wow — Lillian & Jacob

Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Indiana, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

This month, we’re featuring Lillian and Jacob’s burgundy + black-tie wedding.

The Wedding Day

There’s no missing Lillian’s Kim Kassas gown. The pearl-draped corset and full satin skirt, found at Marie Gabriel Couture Bridal, brought plenty of fashion drama. Jacob went black tie in a tux from Louie’s Tux Shop, with a vintage car from Antique Limousine of Indianapolis completing the picture.

Their ceremony held a different kind of significance. Lillian and Jacob were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with their Catholic faith and traditions at the center of it. The historic church was also the setting for what would become their favorite few minutes of the entire wedding.

At the reception, the palette went deep with burgundy, wine, and rose tones against plenty of candlelight; Ace Party Rental added some of the elements that gave the room its look, from mahogany Chiavari chairs and linens to the wine and rose backdrops. Later, their black-and-white checkered dance floor and DJ riser helped set up an entirely different scene once the party started. Top Tier Cakes created the five-tier cake, finished with delicate piping and floral details that fit perfectly among the rest of the reception design.

For Lillian, planning all of those details also came with a lesson: not every decision deserved the same amount of energy. She learned to trust what she liked rather than getting stuck on every choice. Once the day arrived, the individual decisions became much less important than actually being there with the people they loved.

Their Favorite Memory

Of everything Lillian and Jacob planned, their favorite moment wasn’t one that needed much planning at all.

“Walking out of the church together as husband and wife. After all of the planning and anticipation, stepping outside and realizing we were officially married was the happiest, most surreal feeling. Seeing all of our family and friends there celebrating with us made it a moment I’ll never forget. Safe to say, I was more than ready to celebrate at the reception!”

The photos from that exit say plenty, too: Lillian and Jacob coming through the doors with huge smiles, their family and friends gathered around them, and that very clear we just got married energy.
