Marley and Seth leaned into the setting at IRA Whiskey, letting the Barrel Room and its rows of whiskey barrels do much of the work.
Black was carried throughout the day, from the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s tuxes to the reception tables. Red roses brought in a hit of color, showing up in the bouquets and boutonnieres and tying everything together without competing with the space.
The Barrel Room also gave Marley and Seth a setting for portraits that felt completely different from a traditional venue. Against the stacked barrels and darker interior, Marley’s tulle gown stood out, while the outdoor spaces offered a lighter contrast later in the day.
Even the smaller details fit the location. A bottle of bourbon and a whiskey glass joined Marley’s red heels, rings and stationery in the flat lays, making the venue part of the wedding day.
For the reception, black linens and wood chairs kept things simple inside the modern industrial space. It was a restrained setup that worked especially well here, where the architecture, warm wood, and whiskey barrels already give the room plenty of character.
Marley and Seth’s wedding is an example of choosing a venue with a strong point of view, then letting it lead the design. For Marley and Seth, that meant black, red, warm wood, and one very good Barrel Room backdrop.
