Taylor + Michael in Full Color
Taylor and Michael gave us an outdoor ceremony, flowers that committed fully to pink, peach, yellow, and white, a dog in the processional, two very good looks, and eventually lots of bubbles—all beautifully photographed by Orange Float.
Orange Float had already been there for several chapters of Taylor and Michael’s story, from their proposal in Chicago to their Story Session in Bloomington, making their Indianapolis wedding an especially meaningful one to capture.
“Michael and Taylor were such a fun couple to work with! From photographing their proposal in Chicago to filming their Story Session in Bloomington and capturing their wedding in Indianapolis, I loved traveling with them and supporting them as they stepped into marriage. Through all the sweet moments and big laughs, my team and I had so much fun documenting their love story. Their wedding was vibrant, elegant, and HOT (July brides know the struggle).
Taylor really wanted to go down to Newfields for their first look, so we expanded our coverage time, and it was such a great way to start the day. I had my full team shooting both photo and video for their wedding, and we all had a great experience at Ritz Charles. Overall, it was a beautiful day and one of my favorite weddings of the year!” — Jo Fipps, Orange Float
The floral installation framed the ceremony, and the pastel palette carried through the bouquets and wedding party without everyone looking overly matched. The bridesmaids each wore their own variation on those softer colors, which is always more interesting in a group photo than seven copies of the same dress.
And then there was their dog. A formal ceremony is improved considerably by one person walking down the aisle while holding a bouquet and a leash. We don’t make the rules.
Taylor and Michael kept their ceremony looks clean and understated, with Taylor in an off-the-shoulder white gown and Michael in a light suit. They also wore intricately detailed Indian attire during another part of the wedding, giving us a completely different set of colors, textures, and details. Taylor’s beaded pink look caught the light beautifully—which became even more stunning once the sun started dropping.
Some of our favorite frames from their wedding are from that stretch of evening when nobody needs to be anywhere for a minute. String lights overhead, low sun coming through the trees, and Taylor and Michael getting a little space together away from everything else happening around them.
The other contender for favorite moment: the bubbles.
Taylor and Michael walked hand-in-hand through what appears to be a curtain of bubbles. Between the reception lights and all those tiny reflective surfaces, it turned into some of our favorite photos from the night.
This one had plenty of big visual moments, but the photographs we keep coming back to are the interactions in between them—the looks across the ceremony, people sharing moments together, a hand around a waist, and the split seconds when everyone forgets there’s a camera nearby.
