Lauren & Erik: A Weekend That Just Worked

After a stunning rehearsal dinner at the Hotel Carmichael, Lauren and Erik headed to Mustard Seed Gardens for a day that leaned into a palette of blues. The colors felt really fresh against the summer trees and the dark wood of the barn, giving the whole garden setting a more modern feel.

The Ceremony Setup

The ceremony was the first real look at the colors they’d picked out. Wedding Florals by Patty put together a ceremony arch that looked like it was part of the property, but the blue flowers kept it from looking like every other garden wedding. It was simple, but it stood out.

Those blues were the main thread throughout the entire day. Bella Bridesmaids Indianapolis styled the bridal party in a specific shade called Blue Heaven by the designer LulaKate. Dina from Bella Bridesmaids mentioned that “the cool, airy hue sharpened the contrast against the lush greenery, letting Lauren’s bridal gown really take center stage. Seeing the whole group together in the garden was one of those moments that was just as good in person as it looked in the photos.”

The Cake and the Getaway

Inside the barn for the reception, things felt a bit more low-key and intimate. Cake Me Happy made a cake that looked like a piece of art…clean, artistic, and a total focal point of the room. It was one of those details people actually stopped to look at.

The night wrapped up exactly how it should. Lauren changed into a short dress for the exit, and the two headed off in a vintage Rolls Royce. From the ceremony flowers to the flash photos in the back of the car, it was just a really well-put-together day from start to finish.
